What I like about being a blogger and a runners and a clinician and  a researcher, I get to spread the word about things that excite me. The generation of new knew knowledge to help people is what gets me out of bed in the morning. But so does calling out the snake oil salesmen and promotes of pseudoscience.

There have been some interesting recent developments in our understanding about medial tibial stress syndrome, or what most runners know as shin splints.

I blogged yesterday about a study that show poor control around the hip is a risk factor for medial tibial stress syndrome. I also previously blogged and started a forum thread about the potential to use changes in the running form manage medial tibial stress syndrome, especially the concept of bending moments being a risk factor. This does not mean that the traditional treatments should not be used, it just means we getting better at it.
