Toning Shoes for Runners

Many people can remember all the claims being made for the toning shoes and how they would give you the extra workout when wearing them and your 'butts' would be toned. All that hype has died off, mostly because the research did not support the claims and there was a lot of legal action against the companies making the claims.


The question is now are these types of shoes still useful. Of course they are, they are useful in some clinical conditions like hallux rigidus. For runners, they mean that you use different muscles differently for short periods of time. That has to be a good thing and not a bad thing. Just don’t expect that they will give you and extra tone up for your ‘butt’.
